Bud's Auto Carpets

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can I get my carpet?

All Carpet kits are custom made, and are custom made to your order. The manufacturing process will take about 3-5 business days, but during the busy seasons (holidays/show season) this could take 2 or 3 days longer. Please allow approximately 5 days for shipping.

Can I use loop material even though my car had pile?

While it is possible to make your new carpet from a different material than the original was made from, the carpet may not always look right. We recommended loop material for vehicles made before 1975 and cutpile for vehicles after 1975, although both loop and pile can be used for all pre 1975 vehicles. Only the older vehicle models (pre-1975) can have the carpet made with loop material.

Does the carpet come with padding?

Yes, all carpet kits have a heavy Jute pad bonded to the bottom of the carpet in the area where your feet rest (not under the seats). This Jute padding will protect the foot area around the foot wells, soften the floors for your feet, as well as deaden any sounds from under the car. We do sell additional Jute padding by the yard.

Can I buy additional carpet that is not molded?

Yes, we sell carpet by the yard. This carpet comes in a width of approximately 80 inches (or unless stated otherwise), and a length of 3 feet.

Can I get a sample of the carpet I am interested in?

Yes, we can send a carpet sample if you are interested in matching your existing carpet color to one of our colors. Please contact our staff to request one.

My car has a dimmer switch on the floor. Will my new carpet have the same dimmer switch hole?

The carpet kits for older cars with a floor dimmer switch will come with a grommet and instructions for how and where to punch the dimmer switch hole. Making your own dimmer switch hole will allow you to make sure there is a perfect fit, and that the carpet is placed perfectly for you individual car.

How do I install the carpet?

A full set of installation instructions are included with every carpet. Also you can find them online at our installation page.

Will the carpet come with the heel pad attached?

All carpet kits (except Neon Colors) have an attached heel pad (drivers side only), and will be sized and placed for your make, model and year of your car.

What is your shipping/return policy?

Due to the number of automobile models and colors that we offer, we do not stock our carpet kits. All carpet kits are custom made to your specifications (automobile/make/material/color) when ordered. Because all items are custom made to your exact request, we can only accept returns for items that have been pre-approved due to a manufacturing defect. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you request carpet samples prior to ordering so that you can see first hand what color of carpet you will be ordering. Custom made products, including vinyl items, made to the specifications of the customer are not returnable. No returns or exchanges will be accepted for products that have been used, cut / trimmed, glued, altered, or damaged through use.
